Welcome to the new year everyone! We have officially made it to 2018! This weekend was definitely a weekend of reflection on 2017. As mentioned in my previous post, 2017 was pretty rough to me. However, I have high hopes for this year. When it comes to my blog, I definitely have a lot of plans for the new year and a lot of dreams that I want to accomplish. This is why I have decided to call this post redemption.
When we think about redemption, we think about something that has been lost. Although I wouldn’t say that anything has been lost, I do think there is something to gain. 2017 was the year that I strayed away from my original goal for Girl In Gamba. However, 2017 was also the year that I was able to get back on track. Now, that I feel stronger, I hope that 2018 will be an even stronger year for me.
What is scary about 2018 is the uncertainty of what will happen this year. I think it will take a lot of planning and a lot of determination both in my personal and blog life. I think in the blogging community and in life in general, you haven’t really made it until you have a substantial following. However, what makes a following substantial? What does this mean? When thinking about redemption, I would like to gain a better reach and I would like for my voice to resonate with more people.
When we talk about blogging, content is key, right? I can’t say that I hit the bullseye every time with my content, but when I do, it is one of the greatest feelings. I enjoy creating content and I want my year of redemption to include creating good content. So, I want the images to be better, the wording to be better, and the promotion to be better. Sometimes I feel pressure to stick to a schedule and I know that this can affect the quality of content. However, I want to publish content that I really enjoy and that I think people will really enjoy.
So, instead of making new year’s resolutions, I think I would like to think of this year as a year of redemption. A year to really prove to myself and others that I can and will reach my goals. I’ve got big dreams coming up and big things that I want to do. So, I’m going to work hard and I’m going to do well because this is my redemption.
