Road trips can be fun, but you never know what will happen while you’re traveling across the country. Anywhere I go I have to double check before I leave my home because it can be so easy to forget things. It can be extra easy to forget things if you are not really sure what kind of emergencies you’ll encounter. No fear! Girl In Gamba has your back! I’m including a wonderful list of things that you may want to make sure you have on your road trip checklist just in case.
Basic Road Trip Essentials
These may seem like a ‘duh’ moment, but honestly, I’ve forgotten some of these things before. I especially forget them when I’m in a rush!
- License and Registration
- Phone charger
I always come stock with medicines. I mean, ask anyone that knows me. I’m like a walking pharmacy with headache remedies, vitamins, and stomach cures.
- Antacid (Tums extra strength is really good for heartburn)
- First Aid Kit
- Variety size of Band-Aids
- Hand Sanitizer
- Lysol Wipes
Now, snacks are my favorite, but here are some snacks you should definitely carry on your road trip. These are super easy to transport and share with your road trip buddies.
- Mints or gum
- Energy/Protein/Energy Bars
- Skinny Pop
- Snack Packs (you can find bistro boxes at Walmart or Target)
- Cooler for any cold drinks
- Water Bottles
Sometimes you have bad hair days. Here are a few items to pack just in case you can’t tame down those annoying flyaway hairs.
- Dry shampoo
- Nail file and clipper
- Comb or brush
These can be super scary and I really hope you don’t have to use any of this, but just in case, please consider packing/having these for your road trip.
- Swiss Army Knife
- Spare Tire
- Triple A membership
These are just a few things I thought about, but couldn’t find a place for them.
- Pen and paper
