What August Taught Me About Myself

What August Taught Me About Myself

I recently came across a post by The Girl Who Liked To Write and it gave me a lot of inspiration to do the same. August was a month that really taught me about myself that I didn’t realize before. So, I wanted to share what I learned and I hope you do the same!

I learned that I enjoy meditation. I tried meditation twice in the latter part of August and I really did like it. As a result, I want to add it to my daily routine. Honestly, my routine has taken drastic turns this month and I can only assume that it’ll take some more time to get used to this new change. So, when I feel confident and settled, I believe that September will bring me more consistency. This means doing at least 5 minutes of meditation every day.

It’s ok to take some time to pamper yourself. I’ve done my nails and done face masks more this month than any other month. It’s not that I don’t enjoy doing these things for myself but it’s just that I never feel like I have time and when I’m tired, it’s the last thing I want to do. So, although August taught me that it’s ok to take time for myself, this month also encouraged me to take more time in September.

Stress is temporary and things will be temporary. This month has been STRESSFUL. However, I’ve learned that stress is temporary and things will blow through. I think it’s easy to get caught up in stressful periods, but in August, I’ve learned that things are temporary, especially the stressful things.

Question of the day: What did August teach you? Share in the comments!
